Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal consists of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. Cost is $7. No reservations are necessary. American Legion Post 301 will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at The Regency, 3704 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. The cost is $5.95 per person. For information call 330-792-3789.

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.


American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve the following meals from 3 to 7 p.m.: all-you-can-eat fried fish with french fries or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, rolls and beverage; chicken with fries, coleslaw, rolls and beverage; or shrimp with fries, coleslaw, rolls and beverage. Each meal is $8.50 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and free for those 3 and under. A fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw is $5.50. For carryouts or information, call (330) 654-5630. There also will be live entertainment from 7 to 11 p.m. provided by Night Owl.

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 Friday at 330-746-9528, and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available at 11 a.m.

Howland Community Church, 198 Niles- Cortland Road SE, will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

King Solomon Lodge 87 PHF & AM, 505 Highland Ave. SW, Warren, will host a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. sit-down, carryout and deliveries are available. The menu consists of catfish or whiting, green beans, macaroni and cheese, mean greens, potato salad, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Cost is $8 for dinner and $6 for sandwich. St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available.

Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, will serve an all-you-can-eat fish dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal comprises ocean perch, potatoes, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Meatloaf also will be available. Cost is $9 for adults and $3 for children 4 to 11; kids 3 and under eat free. Carryouts will be available beginning at 3:30 p.m.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, North Jackson, is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Also available will be four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp with french fries or macaroni and cheese. The cost is $8 for adults and $7.50 for seniors.


New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will serve a roast beef dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. the meal will include a salad and dessert bar. Adult meals cost $10, and dinners for children 5 to 12 are $4; kids 4 and under eat free. There will be a bake sale during the dinner hours.

Richard Brown United Methodist Church, 1205 Elm St., Youngstown, will offer a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. All the trimmings are included.

St. Nicholas Church Mom’s and Dad’s Club will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Great Hall, 764 Fifth St., Struthers. The cost for sit-down or carryout is $7; kids under six eat free. Meals include all-you-can-eat spaghetti with two meatballs, salad, bread and butter, dessert and a beverage.

Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, will serve a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The menu consists of Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Takeouts are available. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children 5 to 12; kids 4 and under eat free. The church is handicap-accessible. For information call the church at 330-394-2827.


Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road, Warren, is hosting a pancake breakfast from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. in Reagan Hall. Suggested donation is $5 per person or $20 per family. The 2013 Confirmation Class is sponsoring the event as part of the National Souper Bowl of Caring. All proceeds will benefit St. Vincent de Paul Society. For information call 330-372-2215.

Boy Scout Troop 25 will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Canfield United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 27 S. Broad St., to recognize the 103rd anniversary of Boy Scouts of America and the troop’s 87th anniversary. The meal will include pancakes and sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, orange juice, milk or coffee for a donation.

Southington American Legion Post will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the post home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road. It will include pancakes and sausage or biscuits and gravy. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 12; kids 4 and under eat free.

St. Mary Church, 3504 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge, will serve a pancake, French toast, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal costs $6 for adults and $4 for children 5 to 11; kids 4 and under eat free.

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, will host its monthly spaghetti dinner and afternoon concert from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the church hall. The menu includes the main entree, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 8 and under. Carryouts will be available, and containers will be provided. VFW Triangle Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, is sponsoring a homestyle breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. Menu consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. For information call 330-542-9928.


Christ Church, 1933 Canfield Road, Youngstown, has planned a Souper Bowl Sale of carryout chili and tortilla soup from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $6.50 per quart. To order in advance, call the church at 330-782-2611. If no answer, leave a message with your name and quantity of the soup desired. Soup also will be available without an advance order while quantities last.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles, is sponsoring a pizza and calzone sale for Ash Wednesday. Brier Hill (red) pizzas are $6 each, and 13- to 14-inch calzones with potato or spinach or combo filling are $10 each. Order by 7 p.m. Tuesday by calling 330-652-2811. Leave your name, phone number, number and type of pizza/calzones and pickup time. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 or 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the church education center, school annex basement next to church.


Hubbard Baseball Boosters Club will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 16 at Hubbard United Methodist Church, 48 Church St., behind the fire station. Tickets are $5; children under 3 eat free. Purchase tickets from a club member or at the door.

Robbins United Methodist Church, 100 High St., Washingtonville, will have a “soups to go” sale Feb. 6. Quarts of a variety of flavors will be available for $6 for drive-through pickup from 3 to 5 p.m. (note the new time).

Sts. Peter and Paul Church Senior UOL Chapter will sponsor a stuffed cabbage roll dinner from noon to 2 p.m. or until sold out on Feb. 10 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Dinner includes stuffed cabbage rolls with sauce, vegetable, mashed potatoes, salad, bread, coffee, tea and dessert. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for those under 10. Takeout will be available. For advance tickets call 330-793-3237. There also will be a gift basket raffle.
