HMHP facilities need your blood - now!

Published: Tue, January 29, 2013 @ 2:00 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Humility of Mary Health Partners hospitals are experiencing a blood and platelet shortage, and is asking the community to consider giving blood or donating platelets to help alleviate the shortage.

All blood types are needed, but there is a particular need for O-positive, O-negative and B-negative.

It takes about a half-hour for a blood donation, and 50 minutes to 90 minutes for platelet donation, which is a one-needle procedure where platelets are removed from the blood and everything else is returned.

If interested in donating blood or platelets, call HMHP donor services at 330-480-2595.
