Man faces felonious assault charges after East Side stabbing
Charges are pending against a 48-year-old Youngstown man following a drunken fight at an East Side home that led to a stabbing.
A suspect was questioned and released by police Sunday evening.
Police were called to Warren’s home just before 9 p.m. in regard to a fight at the residence. When they arrived, they found a 29-year-old man who also lives on McBride Street bleeding heavily from a knife wound to his shoulder.
A man told police he had given a party earlier in the evening in his home. The victim, he said, became belligerent and started fighting after having too much to drink, so he stabbed him in the shoulder.
Witnesses told police both men had been drinking before they started fighting and the resident stabbed the man in the shoulder.
Some witnesses to the incident were too intoxicated to offer a statement to police.
