Two piano music events scheduled at Bliss Hall

Youngstown Music Teachers’ Association (YTMA) will collaborate with Dana School of Music to present two events of piano music by young local talents Friday at Bliss Recital Hall on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Both events are free and open to the public.

The recital hall can be accessed from the third floor of the M-1 parking deck on Wick Avenue.

The first event will be a master class led by Dr. Caroline Oltmanns, internationally renowned concert pianist and professor of piano at YSU.

At 3:30 p.m., Oltmanns will work with high school-aged piano students Alice Nicholas, Michael Nichols, Hayley Ward and Alyssa Titi.

YMTA will present a “Stars of Tomorrow” recital at 7 p.m. It will include piano students of all ages.

Students performing will be Titi, Yiwen Wang, Jacob Smotzer, Phillip Naples, Alice Nicholas, Justina Chin, Brandon Sharp, Guiliana Vota, Michael Nichols, Grace Haddad, Shawn Rast and Ward. YMTA teachers represented in the evening’s event are Audrey Rhinehart, Rick Barber, Susan Owens, Diane Yazvac, Joan Cosgrove, Sean Baran and Fanny DiDomenico.
