WARREN

Former varsity boys basketball coach John Condoleon will take over the reins of the girls basketball program when it resumes next school year at John F. Kennedy High School.

In December, the school cut short its girls basketball season after just six games because of a lack of participants. John Baytos was the Eagles’ head coach and had led them to the district finals in each of the last two seasons.

The girls dropped a district final a year ago to Windham while compiling a 14-10 record. They were 18-5 the season before that, losing in double overtime to Lowellville in the district title game.

“The girls basketball program has had a strong winning tradition in the past. I look forward to the opportunity to work on building that program and bringing that excitement back to girls basketball at JFK,” Condoleon said.

In his seven years as varsity boys basketball coach Condoleon was 90-67 and had the Eagles in three district finals.
