Youngstown declares snow emergency; on-street parking banned

Youngstown

Charles T. Shasho, Youngstown’s deputy director of public works, has declared a snow emergency effective at midnight. The declaration shall remain in effect until further notice.

During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all streets except streets or alleys having a width of 25 feet or less, and providing there are no driveway facilities. Any motor vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance will be subject to removal by towing at the owner’s expense.

A declaration of a snow emergency occurs when there is an accumulation of snow four inches or more, and is necessary to alleviate a potential serious public health and safety hazard, and to ensure the safe movement of emergency vehicles throughout the city.
