Poland seventh-grade girls beat Hubbard

On Jan. 9, the Poland seventh-grade girls basketball team knocked off Hubbard, 37-12. Maggie Sebest scored 12 to go along with five rebounds and three steals. Juliana Blangero added six points and five rebounds. Alexis Hughes netted six points and four steals. Nine different Bulldogs scored in the contest, including Jenna Miller and Delena Myers. Myers also pulled in eight rebounds.

Girls basketball defeats Glenwood

The seventh-grade Bulldogs defeated Boardman Glenwood 31-8 on Jan. 10. Maggie Sebest had 10 points and four rebounds. Bri Stackpole added seven points and three rebounds. Five others added a score for the Dogs, including Lexi Demain and Laiken Mauer.

Seventh-grade Lady Bulldogs still undefeated

The Lady Bulldogs outlasted crosstown rival Canfield, 37-33 Jan. 14 to run its regular season mark to 12-0. Bella Gajdos netted a season-high 20 points to pace the Dogs. Alexis Hughes chipped in six points, five rebounds and four steals.

Softball sign-ups set for Austintown league

Austintown girls softball league (slow-pitch) sign-ups, which are open to all Mahoning Valley girls, will be at the Austintown Township hall Feb. 2, 3, 16, and 17 from noon until 4 p.m.
