ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 10 a.m. Feb. 2 in the gathering room at Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. After a continental breakfast and business meeting, Virginia Hartman, artistic director of Ballet Western Reserve, will speak. Hostess will be Denise Walters Dobson. Mill Creek Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at A La Cart Catering, Canfield, for a buffet of lemon chicken, stuffed shells, baked whitefish, sandtrap potatoes, peas and carrots, chef salad, rolls and butter, beverages and desserts for $18.50 each. Trumbull Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon Feb. 12 at Ciminero’s Banquet Center, 123 N. Main St., Niles. Hugh Earnhart will be the featured speaker on Abraham Lincoln. Those interested should send $11 to Ellen King, 7141 Vineland Place, Youngstown, OH 44512-4845. Make all checks payable to TRTA. The scholarship committee will sponsor a bake sale at the meeting, and the community services committee will collect used eyeglasses, hearing aids, cell phones, canceled stamps, candle wax and worsted yarn. Members also can purchase table arrangements, with profits to be donated to Trumbull Mobile Meals Inc. William Penn Association Branch 28 of Youngstown will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Eat’n Park, Boardman. The program will be planning upcoming events and the yearly calendar.

CLUBS

Round Table Woodcarvers will meet from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the senior center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Wood and the use of tools will be provided; carving lessons are free. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Austintown Library will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at the library, 600 S. Raccoon Road. Sue Hawkins Bell will present “A Journey from Somerset, England, to Ohio.” She has traced her family from the West Country of England in the early 1800s to Bloomfield, Ohio, in 1836. RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Altar and Rosary Society will meet for prayer at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, followed by a meeting in the church hall.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church hall.

SERVICE CLUBS

Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St., Girard.

SINGLES

D.A.R.E. Singles Group meets at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. Other activities scheduled are: Saturday, winter picnic from 6 to 10 p.m. at Beard Cabin, Boardman Park; Monday, meet at 7 p.m. at Dairy Queen in Cornersburg; Thursday, chili cook-off at 7:30 p.m. at the church; and Feb. 1, meet at 6:30 p.m. in lobby of Movies 8 at Shops at Boardman Park.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for those who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. every Friday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland. Newcomers are welcome at 6:45 p.m. For information call 330-856-3822.

TOPS 1262, McDonald, will meet Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office. Weigh-in is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will follow. New members are welcome.

Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group, which provides information and encouragement to individuals who have or will have ostomies, will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Cedar Room at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. Rhonda Newell-Horton, a staff pharmacist at the St. Elizabeth Health Center, will discuss how ostomies affect the absorption of medications. The meeting is free and open to ostomy patients, families and friends. Parking is free, and refreshments will be provided. For information call 330-480-3440.
