Police: Man slain in home invasion targeted
HILLTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say they believe a man killed in a home invasion in suburban Philadelphia last week was targeted and that his financial problems are part of the investigation.
Joseph Canazaro was killed Friday by two armed robbers inside his home in Hilltown Township, and his girlfriend and 12-year-old son were tied up but unharmed. Court records show he was about $10 million in debt when he filed for bankruptcy in 2008.
Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler says Canazaro was targeted for robbery. Investigators are tracking down people he may have owed money.
The Bucks County Courier Times reports investigators have been talking to businesses in the Quakertown shopping center where the victim’s black pickup truck, which was taken by the robbers, was found Friday.
