Free swim lessons for women

Published: Thu, January 24, 2013 @ 6:33 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

Through a pilot program funded by the Mahoning Valley United Way, the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, is now teaching free American Red Cross learn-to-swim classes for women 21 and older with low- to moderate-income levels.

Lessons will be this Sunday and every Sunday in February. Two class times are available, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. or from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The group lessons are helping women develop abilities in swimming and other water-safety skills. The class is designed to give women a positive learning experience, eliminating their fear of the water.

For information, call 330-746-3251, ext. 112.
