Beginning in February, Jameson Health System is offering Highmark’s weight loss system at Jameson Hospital North Campus, 1211 Wilmington Ave., from noon to 1 p.m. and from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Hospice of the Valley’s new volunteer class begins Feb. 15 at the Martin Funeral Home, 15872 St. Clair Ave. Classes are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays through March 15. Volunteers are particularly needed to serve patients in the Salem and Lisbon areas.
Hospice volunteers serve in a variety of ways including as companions for hospice patients at home or in nursing homes and helping at the Hospice House inpatient facility. New volunteers are needed for all areas of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties and western Pennsylvania. Classes are 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 20 to March 27, at the D.D. and Velma Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClurg Road, Boardman; and Thursdays, Feb. 21 to March 28, at St. Joe’s at the Mall, Eastwood Mall (behind Sears). The cost is $40 for new participants and $20 for repeat participants.
