Gov. Kasich visits economic forum in Switzerland

Published: Tue, January 22, 2013 @ 2:55 p.m.

COLUMBUS (AP) — A spokesman says Ohio’s governor has arrived in Switzerland for his planned appearance at the World Economic Forum.

Republican John Kasich arrived today for the gathering of political, corporate and thought leaders in Davos. He is scheduled to participate in two sessions Wednesday.

The first is an interactive discussion about the future of advanced manufacturing, including reducing a shortage of skilled workers and addressing increased competition for raw materials.

At the second session, titled “Meeting Great Expectations,” Kasich is expected to discuss how expectations for the United States are changing in the 21st century.

Spokesman Rob Nichols said the governor also plans to use the trip to market Ohio to gathered business and industry leaders. Key areas include advanced manufacturing, transportation, polymers, and oil and gas.

A governor with an eye to the future rather than pacifying old union demands.

Lets see. $650 Million plus investment from a French company. Warren's mill once owned by the Russian's desparately seeking a new owner, governor of a state that has one of the highest export levels, what would our governor be doing at an international meeting of some of the wealthiest companies, investors and government officials.

Quite crying about some of your tax money going towards the trip. By the way how much of your tax money was being spent? He can have my tax money, and I hope he does a good job over there. I hope it leads to something inmportant happending for the citizens of Ohio. I hope something comes to Ohio, instead of Michigan, Pennsylvania or Michigan.

Wake up! He is exactly where he should be instead of traveling around the state telling people how sorry he feels for them, accompanied with empty promises and a fake tear or two running down his cheek.

In case you would like a taste of what he is saying to the world audience...
