PHILADELPHIA

Police say they are investigating the death of a woman found on fire in a Philadelphia basement as a suspicious death.

A police spokeswoman says the woman was found on fire in the basement of a Center City home just before 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Homicide Capt. James Clark told KYW-TV that the hands and feet of the woman, who was in her 30s, had been duct-taped behind her.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information about the victim was immediately available.

The city medical- examiner’s office was to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
