Mother, son killed in North Jackson house fire

NORTH JACKSON

An early-morning house fire in Jackson Township killed a mother and her son.

Township fire crews were dispatched to 1875 North Duck Creek Road about 1 a.m. today.

A fire that started in the attached garage spread quickly to the home, where an older mother and her middle-aged son were found dead, according to Jackson Township Fire Chief David Graham.

Identities of the victims were not immediately released pending notification of relatives.

The blaze was the first fatal fire in Jackson Township in at least 37 years, Graham said.
