Struthers runs past Hubbard

HUBBARD

The Struthers High girls basketball team beat Hubbard 81-53 on Thursday to stay in the thick of the All-American Conference American Division race.

Ashley Hefferon scored 24 points, Brittany Zupko added 14 and Ashleigh Ryan scored 13 for the Wildcats (12-3, 5-1).

Hubbard (3-11, 2-5) got a game-high 32-point effort from Alena Burzynski.

Girard 55, Jefferson 37

JEFFERSON

Mirandy Boyle scored 20 points while Bree Bishop netted 19 points and pulled down 17 rebounds for the Indians (11-4, 5-2 AAC National Division).

For the Falcons (5-9, 1-5), Sarah Busch scored 14 points and Leeann Farr 11.

Lakeview 43, Liberty 27

LIBERTY

Allie Pavlik scored 14 points and Calli Schmitt added 12 to lead the Bulldogs (11-4, 6-1 AAC National). Lakeview used an 11-1 second-quarter rush to take a 26-9 lead at the break. Leah Leshnack scored 13 points for the Leopards (4-11, 1-6).

LaBrae 66, Campbell 28

LEAVITTSBURG

Ashlee Stubbs had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Maddie Kiser scored 13 points with 10 rebounds for LaBrae (8-6, 3-4 AAC National). Lauren Rutherford added 12 rebounds. For Campbell (0-14, 0-6), Britney Williams scored 17.

Cardinal Mooney 60, St. Thomas Aquinas 33

YOUNGSTOWN

Jamie DiDomenico scored a game-high 18 points and the Cardinals (5-7) got off to a 15-4 lead after one quarter.

Jaclyn Yankle scored nine and Macy Marlowe and Lauren Lottier added eight each for Mooney.

South Range 56, Springfield 42

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

South Range (8-6, 7-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier One) stayed in the league race by jumping out to a 12-2 lead after one quarter and blowing the game open with a 20-7 third quarter. Lexi Naples led a balanced attack with 11 points. Baylee Felger and Callie Ford scored 10 apiece for the Tigers (4-10, 4-5).

Jackson-Milton 43, Crestview 40

NEW WATERFORD

Rebecca Jones scored 18 points and made 10 rebounds for the Bluejays (9-5, 5-4 ITCL Tier One). Madison Tomaino scored seven points while Paije Kiraly contributed seven rebounds and four points.

For the Rebels (12-5, 7-2), Ashley Harrison scored 18 points while Morgan Newbauer had 10 points and three steals. Annie Hardenbrook made seven rebounds and scored nine points while Alexis Marnejon made nine rebounds and three steals.

Lisbon 59, Mineral Ridge 46

MINERAL RIDGE

Lisbon (8-7, 3-6) made 18 of its 19 free throw attempts in the win. Sarah Boyd led the offense with 16 points and Pam Pierce added 15. Mineral Ridge (1-13, 0-9) was led by Chasity Digman with 14 points and Peyton Allen with 10.

United 81, East Palestine 38

HANOVERTON

Emily Zehentbauer scored 27 points and MacKenzie Gatchel added 17 to lead United (14-2, 9-0 ITCL Tier One), which led 35-6 after the first quarter. Brooke Gedeon scored 15 for EP (2-11, 1-8).

Lowellville 60, McDonald 26

LOWELLVILLE

Rachel Durbin led four Rockets in double figures with 22 points as Lowellville (12-2, 9-0) stayed perfect in Tier Two of the ITCL. Kaye Solak scored 13, Katie Seidita 11 and Madison Opritza 10. McDonald (1-12, 1-8) was led by Tory Ross with 15 points.

Columbiana 68, Sebring 24

COLUMBIANA

Kylea Fullum scored 23 points, Bailey Mook had 13 and Emily Witmer added 10 for the Clippers (14-1, 8-1 ITCL Tier Two). Murphy Flowers topped Sebring (3-12, 0-9) with 10 points.

Leetonia 50, Western Reserve 48

LEETONIA

Emily Schneider scored 14 points and Delaney Gardner added 10 to lead the Bears (5-9, 4-5 ITCL Tier Two). April Lude was the game’s high scorer with 19 points and Tory White added 11 for Western Reserve (4-10, 4-5).

Youngstown Christian 80, Lutheran East 14

YOUNGSTOWN

Toi Brown had 13 points and eight rebounds, Shanell Harris had 13 points and Destinee Snyder had 12 points to lead YCS (8-6), which led 22-2 after the first quarter. Jazmyne Darby scored eight for Lutheran East (9-5).
