Poland man gets probation, restitution in $84,000 theft

Youngstown

A 51-year-old Poland man who admitted he stole about $84,000 from his employer has been put on probation for a year and ordered to make full restitution.

Judge James C. Evans of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court imposed the sentence today on Thomas Morris, who pleaded guilty to stealing the money from Tri T&J Real Estate while he was the company’s book keeper.

The probation starts with one month in county jail beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by 90 days of electronically monitored house arrest.
