Ohio Cultural Alliance will have a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Austintown. John Boehm will present “Old World Traditions: Lost and Retained — German.” He has taught at several universities, including Youngstown State, and has been involved in the German community in northeastern Ohio. Cultural enrichment will be provided by the Canfield Community Band, directed by Kim Hogan. Memberships are $25 per person and $15 per meeting for members and $20 for nonmembers. Goldwing Road Riders Association Chapter M will meet Saturday at Yankee Kitchen, 6635 Market St., Boardman. Dinner will be at 5 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 6.


Girard High School Athletic Boosters will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the high school cafeteria.

Warren Women’s Connection is hosting a “Chocolate Anyone?” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at DeLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE , Warren. Special feature will be Dove Chocolate Discoveries by Sarah Shesko. Youngstown Chapter of International Torch Clubs will meet Monday at Pete’s Place, Kilcawley Center, on the campus of Youngstown State University. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be at 6. The lecture will be presented at 7 p.m. by Linda Porter, French and Spanish language teacher at Howland High School, who will discuss “Life As Art: Toulouse-Lautrec.” Cost is $18 for nonmembers. Friends of Poland Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 5 in the library meeting room to install the following slate of officers: Kitty Heineman, president; Lee Wright, vice president; Bertha Eszenyi, secretary; and Glenda Hoagland, treasurer. Dave and Glenda Hoagland will provide a program on Cuba. Hostesses are Emma Eggleston, Rekha Desai, Carol McCoy and Sue Perry. Meetings are open to the public. The meeting will be cancelled if schools are closed for inclement weather.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the parish house.

Youngstown South Christian Woman’s Connection will host a “Be My Valentine” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. A fashion show will feature Fashions by Chico’s, and entertainment will be provided by singer Steve Varga. Guest speaker will be Judy Conti Katsaras, owner of Judy Conti Dance Studios, who will present “Finding Life’s Amazing Discovery.” Cost is $13 and includes lunch. The public is invited. Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the St. Charles Church Ministry Building, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman. Youngstown-Warren-Sharon Chapter of Carpatho-Rusyn Society will have a dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the MVR, 410 N. Walnut St., Youngstown. Joel Christopher, from the Department of Slavic Languages and Literature at University of Pittsburgh, will discuss the way the 20th century transnational migration contributed to the causes of World War I.
