POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield city and Austintown:

CANFIELD CITY

Jan. 4

Warrant: Nicolae Manu, 62, of 3523 W. 152nd St., Cleveland, was arrested on a warrant out of Elyria for larceny.

Jan. 8

Theft: Cleaning materials and a check for payment of services were reported stolen by a former employee and then returned at Immaculate Cleaning Services, 96 Hood Drive.

Jan. 13

Drug paraphernalia: Lucas Imhoff, 20, of 119 Northouse Road, Akron, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, a glass pipe with marijuana residue.

Drug paraphernalia: Conner Fry, 20, of 1452 S.Meridian Road, Youngstown, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, a 3/4-inch silver socket with marijuana residue.

AUSTINTOWN

Jan 7

Fraud: A Home Savings and Loan bank account was reported as having been accessed at an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West.

Drug offense: Shawna Merkich, 30, of 322 Idlewood Ave, was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments, and Robert Mogg, 46,of 1114 Turin St., Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant for receiving stolen property.

Theft: Two trailers were stolen from Southwind Trucking, 5437 Mahoning Ave.

Breaking and entering: Copper and a furnace were stolen from a home in the 2000 block of South Meridian Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted phone calls were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Patricia Avenue.

Jan. 8

Criminal damaging: Two vehicles were damaged at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: Patsy Lomax-Higgins, 34, of 1847 Woodland Trace was arrested on charges of operating a possible “fight club” for underage youths, and charged also with assault, inciting violence, child endangering and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Breaking and entering: Forced entry was made at a home in the 100 block of Marcia Drive, but nothing was taken.

Warrant: Erica Cook, 34, of 4038 Helena Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a bench warrant out of Youngstown for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Breaking and entering: Two garage-door openers were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Eigen Street.

Fraud: A victim had $361 taken out of his account at a home in the 2000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: An air compressor was stolen at Austintown Pawn, 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 9

Theft: A Garmin GPS was stolen from a truck in the 300 block of Rutland Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Tires were slashed at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Jan. 10

Criminal damaging: Damage to a vehicle window was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Identity theft: A victim’s Social Security number was stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Forty-Second Street.

Bad checks: Bad checks were reported at Steelcraft Erectors, Inc., 56 South Meridian Road.

Fraud: A grandmother was scammed out of $8,249 by a granddaughter at a home in the 100 block of Idlewood Road.

Jan. 11

Theft: A wallet was taken from a room at the Sleep Inn, 5555 Interstate Blvd.

Aggravated menacing: A woman and her mother were threatened by a neighbor at a home in the 1000 block of Lancaster Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle tire was cut at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Jan. 12

Burglary: A ladies golf bag with clubs were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Paisley Street.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was shot out with a pellet gun at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Recovered property: An Ohio driver’s license was recovered at True North Shell, 4200 Mahoning Ave.

Menacing: An ex-boyfriend threatened to damage a car at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Jan. 13

Auto theft: A 1999 Pontiac Bonneville was stolen at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Drug offense: Joshua Lipe, 30, of 5556 Oakcrest Ave., Youngstown, was issued summonses for possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and Anaki Perez, 32, of 5356 Oakcrest Ave., Youngstown, was issued summonses for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Criminal damaging: A hammer was thrown through a window at Wedgewood Community Center, 4301 New Road.

Theft: A roll of quarters was missing at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.

Theft: A purse was stolen at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Tylisha McKaufman, 21, of 4593 Kirk Road, Youngstown, was arrested on a warrant for domestic violence.

Theft: A suspect is accused of stealing money and equipment at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: Steven Eddy, 37, of 4203 Crum Road was arrested on charges of domestic violence and inducing panic.
