Police continue their investigation into how a pedestrian was struck by a cable TV van Friday evening.
According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, the accident happened about 6 p.m. on U.S. Route 422, just north of the North Road intersection.
Police say a woman in her 20s was crossing the busy road, when she was hit by a Time Warner Cable van that was heading southbound.
The woman was first taken to St. Joseph Health Center, and then later flown to an Akron hospital with a broken neck, according to 21 WFMJ-TV.
Time Warner released a statement, saying that its “thoughts and prayers are with the individuals involved,” and that the company is working with investigating authorities.
No additional information was available Saturday night on the woman or her condition.
