Drugs seen by cops as key to teen’s shooting
YOUNGSTOWN
Police say the Thursday evening shooting that sent an 18-year-old man to the hospital may have been the result of some type of drug deal gone bad.
Tommy Kimbrough, 18, of Wilson Avenue, Struthers, was shot in the shoulder just before 6 p.m. Thursday in the area of Midlothian Boulevard and East Avondale Avenue. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment where he was listed in stable condition.
Capt. Mark Milstead, Youngstown police, said drugs were a definite factor in the shooting.
“Apparently this must have been a marijuana deal gone sour, that’s what it looks like at this point. Our guys recovered a small bag of marijuana at the scene,” said Milstead.

Midlothian and Avondale are six or so blocks from each other and don't intersect but its close enough for reporting standards for the vindicator.
