Oregon beer lover makes brew for dogs: Dawg Grog
An Oregon man who loves beer and loves his dog has concocted some hooch for the pooch.
Daniel Keeton works at Bend’s Boneyard Brewery tasting room and calls his canine creation Dawg Grog.
KTVZ reports there’s no alcohol in the doggie brew. Ingredients include vegetable broth and spent grain.
Bottles of Dawg Grog are on sale at the Visit Bend store, along with other local beers.
Keeton says his dog, Lola Jane, usually licks her bowl clean.
Vermont town officials say woman’s pigs in home must go
A Vermont woman considers her pigs to be pets, but town officials say they’re farm animals and have no business living in a residential neighborhood.
The zoning board in Essex has given Florence Gruber and Alan Tsefrekas until Jan. 22 to remove an estimated 30 to 40 miniature potbellied pigs from their home.
Gruber told the board Thursday that her pigs use litter boxes and that the adult animals weigh 50 to 100 pounds. She’s given them names such as Larry, Nadia, Olive and Snow White Sleepy Girl.
The Burlington Free Press reports that neighbors told the board that the pigs must go.
Gruber says the pigs are up for adoption.

The Oakland County sheriff’s department says workers at a McDonald’s in Pontiac spotted the 40-year-old man Saturday in the drive-through.
Deputies responded and took the Pontiac man into custody. He was being held at the Oakland County Jail pending charges.
The robbery happened Oct. 5.
