Kindergarten students at Stadium Drive Elementary School performed a holiday concert for their friends and families Dec. 18 in the school gymnasium. The performance featured songs performed by all three kindergarten classes at the school.
The songs were holiday themed, but not always holiday classics. Some of the songs were take-offs of other popular tunes that were rewritten to a holiday theme, like “The First Snowfall of the Season” being sung to the tune of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and “Santa” being sung in the form of “Bingo.” Other songs were true holiday favorites, like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Jingle Bells,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.”
Certain songs performed at the concert also included hand movements or sound effects, like snapping fingers during “Up On the Housetop” and motioning to the various popular features of Santa, like his red nose, during “Our Little Santa.”
The holiday concert at Stadium Drive Elementary School ended with a rendition of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” that audience members were invited and encouraged to participate in.
