POLICE CALLS

A summary of criminal activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Dec. 25

Drug abuse: Police charged Michael Ayrassian, 20, of Kane, Pa., with drug abuse and drug paraphernalia, after police found an empty prescription bottle with suspected marijuana residue and a small amount of suspected marijuana in his possession after his arrest in the city.

Dec. 29

Drug paraphernalia: Zavaughn Lilly, 22,of 1004 Front St., Alliance was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, after police found a metal grinder with marijuana residue.

Dec. 30

Warrant: Police arrested Brandon Zepernick, 19, of 28273 Buffalo Road, Kensington, on a warrant for failure to appear in Mayor’s Court.

Drug abuse: Police charged Jeffrey Shorter, 24, of 2425 Ohio Ave., Youngstown, with drug abuse of marijuana after his arrest in the city.

Drug abuse: Police charged Mark Redoway, 22, of 4593 Kirk Road, Apt. 9, Austintown, with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a small bag containing suspected marijuana and a pipe with marijuana residue.

AUSTINTOWN

Dec. 24

Theft: Police issued a summons to Lucius Ellis, 39, of 737 Fairgreen Ave., Youngstown, for a theft at Sheetz, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Entry was gained to an auto at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave., and Christmas gifts were stolen.

Theft: A fruit basket was stolen from an auto parked at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Kmart.

Breaking and entering: Police charged Jason Duecaster, 28, of 2108 Logan Ave., Youngstown, with breaking and entering a vacant house in the 900 block of Kirwan Drive.

Theft: A wallet and phone were taken at McDonald’s, 5524 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A CB radio, television, printer and jacket were stolen from an auto parked in the 700 block of North Meridian Road.

Fraud: A fraudulent check was received but not cashed at a home in the 1000 block of Northfield Drive.

Theft: Twelve 12-packs of Coca-Cola were taken by an unidentified male at Dollar General, 1739 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A window was broken on a tractor-trailer, and a CB and clothes were taken at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: Police charged James Foster, 39, of 4040 Lanterman Road with the crime.

Dec. 25

Burglary: Money was stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Burglary: Jewelry and other items were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Woodland Trace.

Dec. 26

Drug offense: Police issued summonses to Paul O’Connor, 19, of 108 S. Kimberly Ave., and Collin Schett, 20, no address listed, for drug abuse of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Disorderly conduct: Stanley Sudack, 49, of 119 Marcia Drive, was released on a summons for disorderly conduct at Get Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

Unauthorized use of credit card: A total of $532.80 was charged to a Mastercard at walmart.com to the owner of a home in the 400 block of North Turner Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 5000 block of Pinecrest Drive.

Breaking and entering: An unattached garage was entered at a home in the 200 block of Aldrich Road.

Theft: A GPS was stolen from an auto parked in the 500 block of Birchcrest Avenue.

Auto theft: A 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck with a plow was stolen in the 1000 block of North Canfield-Niles Road.

Breaking and entering: An unattached garage was broken into at a home in the 5000 block of Sterling Street.

Breaking and entering: An unattached garage was broken into and a GPS was stolen from a vehicle parked at a home in the 200 block of DeHoff Drive.

Bad checks: Bad checks were passed at Power Tool, 3699 LeHarps Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 600 block of Purdue Avenue.

Dec. 27

Drug offense: Police charged D’Andre Parker, 26, of 471 W. Garfield St., Struthers, with falsification, possession of heroin, and aggravated trafficking and Jennnie Smith, 20, of 356 Baird Road, Edinburg, Pa., with permitting crack-cocaine use after their arrest in the township.

Theft: Two vehicles were entered at a home in the 5000 block of Argonne Drive.

Dec. 27

Theft: A cellphone was stolen from an individual at Burger King, 5310 Mahoning Ave.

Dec. 28

Recovered property: A JVC in-dash radio was recovered at a home in the 200 block of DeHoff Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: An ex-employee was calling the business and emailing a current employee at Youngstown Pre-Press, 3691 LeHarps Road.

Theft: A television was stolen from a home in the 300 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Bad checks: Komara Jewelers, 3649 Canfield Road, reported receiving bad checks from a suspect.

Dec. 29

Vehicle theft: A 1996 Ford Explorer was stolen from a home in the 500 block of Foresthill Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported at a home in the 2000 block of Hamman Drive.

Domestic violence: Police charged Matthew Davies, 42, of 2610 Vollmer Drive, with the crime after his arrest in the township.

Theft: Stolen items were returned for gift cards at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Dec. 30

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Leslie Pico, 20, of 700 Coitsville Road, Campbell, for drug abuse of pills.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Mark Redoway, 22, of 4593 Kirk Road, Apt. 9 for marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: Laundry was taken from a laundry room at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Rickal Carter, 23, of 716 Bennington Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant for theft.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Jeffrey Shorter, 24, of 2514 Ohio Ave., Youngstown, for use of marijuana.
