Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership (MYCAP) will provide free basic tax service to eligible low- and moderate-income individuals, families and senior citizens through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Volunteers are needed to learn basic tax information to process basic tax returns.

Training will be on Jan. 5, 19 and 26 in Room 2221 in the Williamson School of Business at Youngstown State University. Volunteers must attend three classes to receive certification. Online training also is available at the IRS.gov website through Link and Learn Taxes.

Those eligible for this free tax service can make appointments in February and March at the MYCAP office, 1325 Fifth Ave. For information call MYCAP at 330-747-7921, ext. 1738.
