ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 14 for a dinner meeting at Third Baptist Church, 1172 Park Hill Drive, Youngstown. Sarah Brown-Clark, Youngstown Municipal Clerk of Courts, will discuss “Old World Traditions: Lost and Retained-African.” The Gospel Choir, directed by Kris Harper, will perform with jazz pianist and vocalist Howard Howell. Membership fees are $25 per person; meetings cost $15 per meeting for members and $20 for nonmembers. Reservation deadline is Wednesday. Send a check payable to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406-0561. Take a nonperishable food item to be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

ASSOCIATIONS

Tri-Gold Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet Wednesday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. Canfield. A social will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 6. McDonald Baseball Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Community Room at the post office building.

BOOSTERS

McDonald Basketball Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.

McDonald Music Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the high school.

CLASSES

Campbell Memorial January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s restaurant, Route 224, Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

Campbell Memorial Class of 1955 will meet for its monthly breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin’ Restaurant in the Matthews Square Plaza on South Avenue, Boardman. Class members, spouses and guests are welcome.

Campbell Memorial High School Class of 1962 will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cafe 422 on South Avenue.

Chaney High School Classes of 1947, 1948 and 1949 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Denny’s on Mahoning Avenue. All classmates are welcome.

Woodrow Wilson High School January and June Classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Members of the 1946 and 1948 classes are welcome.

CLUBS

Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at Antone’s Banquet Center, Boardman. Bob Kalasky, author and historian, will discuss Civil War photography and his new book, “Shadows of Antietam.” Cost for the dinner meeting is $13 per person, and reservations are required. Youngstown Area Weavers Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Inn, Canfield Fairgrounds for a planning program for 2013-2014. Activities scheduled are: Tuesday, dance classes at 7 p.m. at Judy Conti’s, Austintown; Wednesday, volunteer from 5 to 7 p.m. at Second Harvest Food Bank; Thursday, speaker night at 7 p.m. at the church; and Jan. 11, card night from 6 to 10 p.m. at Denny’s, Boardman.

SOCIETIES

Girard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Girard Free Library.

The Historical Society of McDonald will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday in the community room at the post office building.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Diabetes Partnership Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at StoneBridge Grille and Tavern, Route 224, Boardman.

Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for those who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. every Friday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland. Newcomers are welcome at 6:45. For information call 330-856-3822.

R-Weight, a nonprofit weight support group with a certified registered dietician, meets every Monday at 1 and 5 p.m. at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. Joining fees are $25 for new members, $20 for repeat members plus $10 per month dues.

Salem-Lisbon La Leche League, a breast-feeding support group, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church, 111 E. Chestnut St., Lisbon. The discussion will be “The Advantages of Breast-feeding.” All pregnant or nursing mothers and their babies are welcome. UPMC Horizon support groups meeting this week are: Tuesday, Cancer Support Group at 1 p.m. and Weight Loss Surgery Support Group at 6 p.m., both at Greenville, Pa., campus; and Wednesday, Mercer County Breast Cancer Support Group at 7 p.m. at Womancare Center, 875 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, Pa.
