2 holdup men in Canton wind up wounded, arrested

Published: Thu, January 3, 2013 @ 10:34 a.m.

CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Police here say two holdup men tried to rob a meat market, fired off several rounds and then both were shot several times by a store employee.

Both wounded suspects fled the Canton market Wednesday and went to different hospitals where they were arrested and held under police guard.

No one at the market was hurt.

The suspects, ages 17 and 19, had been wanted on earlier warrants for burglary and robbery.

The Repository newspaper of Canton says the shop owner and an employee overpowered a masked gunman last April. The man was sentenced to four years in prison for robbing the market and a neighboring store.

Wow, two thug losers rob a store and get the business end of a gun after firing shots themselves! Congrats to this employee, not only did he stop the robbery but he took two wanted criminals off the street, unfortunately they lived! C'mon anti-gun jokers, throw in your worthless 2 cents! How much do you want to bet the employee had a legal gun and the perpetrators did not?!

How dare those employees use guns to defend themselves. Gun are evil and have no place in our society. Except for these two misunderstood young men who needed extra money for Christmas shopping. Stores should carry more money so these fine young men would of got enough in the first or second robbery and wouldn't of been assaulted by these evil men with guns protecting what they have. The real victims are these two young men who undoubtedly come from a fine upbringing where they are so trustworthy that one of them was allowed to possess a firearm while under the age of 18. We need to hurry up and pass gun control because I'm sure these fine young men would be running to turn theirs in.
