Dead dogs found on Youngstown's West Side

Published: Thu, February 28, 2013 @ 4:55 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Dog Warden is investigating the discovery of several dead dogs found in the area of Salt Springs Road today.

The five dogs were discovered in trash bags, but it has not yet been determined how they died or if they died at the same time.

Agents from the dog warden’s office were in the area investigating a report of dogs running at large on the West Side when they spotted two small puppies inside a trash bag. A short distance away was another trash bag containing another puppy. There were also two adult dogs found dead but not in trash bags.

Animal Charity will be looking at the dogs to determine how they died and to make sure there was no criminal activity involved in the animals’ deaths.
