Scholarships are offered to seniors

YOUNGSTOWN

Scholarship applications are being accepted for Youngstown City School’s graduating seniors by Oak Hill Athletic Club and L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Services, who will award two $1,000 non-renewable scholarships.

They will be awarded to one male and one female.

Eligibility criteria are: must be a graduating senior from the Youngstown City Schools; one parent must be of African-American descent; copy of high school transcript must have 2.5 grade-point-average; two letters of recommendation; proof of undergraduate acceptance; and an essay describing financial need (family hardship or extenuating circumstances).

The application and required documents must be received by April 8.
