Local bands to perform at SMASH concert Saturday

Published: Thu, February 21, 2013 @ 10:28 p.m.

NEWTON FALLS

The traffic-safety initiative SMASH — Students Making a Safer Highway — will have a concert at the Newton Falls Community Center, 52 E. Quarry St., from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Many local bands will perform, and students from all area high schools have been invited to attend. Donations of $3 will be accepted. Food and beverages will be available.

SMASH, in its second year, is a program involving 15 high schools. Last year, the group created a video shown to all Trumbull County high schools. This year’s project will be announced later.
