Fergie, Josh Duhamel expecting 1st child

NEW YORK

Her hump, her hump, her lovely lady lump: Fergie is pregnant with her first child.

A representative for the Black Eyed Peas singer confirmed the news Monday. Fergie’s actor husband, Josh Duhamel, tweeted about the news with joy, saying: “Fergie and Me and BABY makes three.”

The 37-year-old Fergie and 40-year-old Duhamel married in 2009. She joined the Black Eyed Peas when the group released its third album, “Elephunk,” in 2003. The foursome is known for its pop-inspired hip-hop tunes such as “My Humps,” “I Gotta Feeling” and “Boom Boom Pow.”

Sheriff: McCready shot dog before killing self

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark.

Authorities say they found country singer Mindy McCready’s body on the same porch of her northern Arkansas home where her boyfriend was found dead of an apparent suicide last month.

Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss said Monday that it appears McCready killed her late boyfriend David Wilson’s dog before she turned the gun on herself Sunday. The dog and McCready were found dead next to each other at the home in Heber Springs, a vacation community about 65 miles north of Little Rock. Moss says the dog’s body was next to McCready’s.

Authorities are investigating Wilson’s shooting death as a suicide, but Moss says an official determination hasn’t been made.

‘Lassie’ trainer who became activist dies

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

Pat Derby — a former Hollywood trainer for Flipper, Lassie and other performing animals who later devoted her life to protecting them after seeing widespread abuse — has died at age 69, her organization said Monday.

Derby, who had throat cancer, died Friday at her home in the biggest of the animal sanctuaries run by her organization, the Performing Animal Welfare Society, or PAWS, in San Andreas, Calif., outside Sacramento. Her longtime partner and the organization’s co-founder, Ed Stewart, was at her side, a PAWS statement said.
