Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, open exercise at 8 a.m., trip to Middlefield flea market at 9, blood pressure checks at 9:30, bingo at 10, painting class at 10:15, cards and OSHIP social worker at 11:30 and intermediate computer class at noon; Tuesday, open exercise at 8 a.m., Vets Helping Vets and bingo at 10, bridge club at 10:30, line dancing at 11, cards at 11:30 and lasagna dinner at 5:30 p.m.; Wednesday, open exercise at 8 a.m., bingo at 10, jewelry making class at 11:30, pizza party ($3) at noon and movie matinee, “A Blast from the Past,” at 1 p.m.; Thursday, open exercise at 8 a.m., yoga at 9:15, beginner computer class at 10, beginner crochet and Bible study at 11 and bingo at 6 p.m.; and Friday, open exercise at 8 a.m., bingo and discussion group at 10 and lunch and learn personal preparedness for an emergency disaster ($2) at 11:30, call Marlene Braunlich at 330-782-5877. Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., has planned the following: Monday, morning stretch class at 9:30 a.m. and knitting and crocheting at 10; Tuesday, exercise with Jude at 9:30 a.m., AARP tax help from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., yoga ($3 for members, $5 for nonmembers) at 10:15 and nutrition/healthy living at 10:30; Wednesday, morning stretch class at 9:30, health screenings 10 a.m. to noon, yoga 3 to 4 p.m.; Thursday, exercise with Jude at 9:30 a.m., AARP tax help from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and yoga from 10:15 to 11:15; and Friday, morning stretch class at 9:30 a.m. and tai chi at noon. Monday-Friday: coffee bar from 8:30 to 11 a.m.; fitness rooms and computer cafe on Monday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and adult basketball and cornhole from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wii gaming system, air hockey and pingpong also are available. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. They also plan special events such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., has planned the following: Monday, needlecraft at 8:30 a.m., income tax filing at 9 and bridge and movie matinee at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, New Middletown fun day and arts and crafts at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, beginner bridge at noon and digital computer at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, Lake Milton fun day and watercolors at 10 a.m., tap dancing class at noon, 500 card club at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 1:30; Thursday, Watch Our Weight and wood carvers at 9 a.m., Boardman fun day at 10, exercise at noon and Texas Hold’em at 2 p.m.; and Friday, income tax filing at 9 a.m., Youngstown fun day and Wii leagues at 10, cards at noon, movie matinee at 1 p.m. and cornhole at 2. There will be a trip to Tunica/Memphis on April 21 through 27. Cost is $480 for members and $500 for nonmembers. Payment in full is due April 13. Warren S.C.O.P.E. Center, 220 W. Market St., invites all Trumbull County seniors to its Feb. 26 breakfast featuring Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, who will provide a slide show presentation of the coroner’s office. The breakfast begins at 9:30 a.m., and cost is $2 per person. For reservations call 330-399-8846 no later than Feb. 25.
