“Life is but a dream” (9 p.m., hbo): You saw her at halftime during the Super Bowl. Now see her in a feature-length documentary. “Life Is but a Dream,” directed by Beyonce herself, promises to provide “raw, unprecedented access” to the pop superstar.

“Stories from the Road to Freedom” (10 p.m., History): This new documentary chronicles the history of American black culture.

“Saturday Night Live” (11:30 p.m., NBC): “Django Unchained” actor Christoph Waltz hosts with musical guest Alabama Shakes.

“Community Connection” (7 a.m. Sunday on 21 WFMJ-TV; and 7 p.m. Tuesday on Time Warner Cable community access channel): The Trumbull African American Achievers Association will have its 28th Hall of Fame Induction banquet Saturday. Robert Davis and Sterling Williams will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the event, the honorees and the scholarship recipients.

Next, Matthew Mazuroski and visiting actor Michael Traylor will discuss the upcoming YSU University Theater production of “Broke-ology,” a production about a family that has weathered life’s hardships.

“Increase the Peace” (6:30 p.m. today, MyYTV): The first of a two-part series celebrating love from the single, engaged and married perspectives. Guests will be Kelan Bilal, Korday Allison and Jerome Franklin, all from the Starting Line Up Barber Shop.

“Sunday Morning with Dee” (8 a.m. Sunday on WKBN-TV 27): Host Dee Crawford’s guest will be Danielle Procopio from SouthernCare, who will share details of an upcoming event to raise awareness of the increasing number of individuals needing hospice care with heart disease.

Night at the Races to benefit theater

SALEM

Salem Community Theater will have a Night at the Races fundraiser March 9 at St. Paul’s School gymnasium, 925 E. State St. Tickets are $20 and include dinner and beverages. The event will include races and a basket raffle. Participants must be at least 21.
