PTSA Band Jam features big acts

The Fitch High School Parent Teacher Student Association will sponsor Band Jam on March 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the auditorium of the school.

Band Jam will feature local bands Alteras and Northern Whale. Tickets are $5.

To order tickets, contact Becky at Tickets will also be sold at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Merchandise from both bands will be available for purchase.

Alteras is a five-piece post-hardcore band. They have shared the stage with national acts Motionless in White, Tonight Alive, Bless the Fall, We Came as Romans and Our Last Night. They will release an extended play recording in the summer.

Northern Whale is an alternative/Indie band. The band has opened for national acts Zach Myers, Joe Vitale, Jr. and Foxy Shazam, and shared billing with national acts Attack Attack, Machine Gun Kelly and The Devil Wears Prada.

Their single, “When I Arrived,” spent 14 weeks on the Indie Music Channel top 10 and their single, “They Take It All,” is currently No. 2 on the nationally-syndicated Radio Caf radio show.

This month, their song “Oh and You Wanna” will be part of a compilation CD produced by Broken Heart Records, with all proceeds benefitting St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
