Parish sets cook-off and wine tasting


YOUNGSTOWN

Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, will host the 11th Annual Pasta Cook-Off and Wine Tasting at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 24 in the parish’s Covelli Gymnasium.

Local restaurants and amateurs will compete for the Peoples’ Choice Award in the pasta category, and local wine makers will compete for the gold prize in their categories.

Celebrity judges include Warren Mayor Doug Franklin, Howland Police Chief Paul Monroe, Heart Walk Chairwoman Allison Oltmann, Channel 33’s Stan Boney, Channel 27’s Rich Morgan, and Blessed Sacrament’s Parish Council Chairman Bob Ward.

Advance tickets are available at the parish. Cost is $13 for adults and $6 for children 11 and under.

Family prices also are available.

Tickets at the door will cost more.

Proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association Heart Walk.
