Former Poland Swim Club treasurer gets probation

Published: Fri, February 8, 2013 @ 12:32 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — The former treasurer of the Poland Swim Club will spend five years on probation and 120 days under electronic home monitoring after pleading guilty of theft from the club.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today sentenced Brad A. Sackella, 40, of Four Seasons Trail, Poland.

Sackella, who served as the club’s treasurer from 2009 until he was terminated last year, pleaded guilty last December to a bill of information charging him with theft. He was accused of taking about $25,000 from the club.

Judge Krichbaum sentenced Sackella to probation after Sackella made full restitution to the club of the money he was accused of taking.
