ASSOCIATIONS

Trumbull Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon Tuesday at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Main St, Niles. Hugh Earnhart will speak about Abraham Lincoln. Members can purchase table arrangements, with profits going to Trumbull Mobile Meals Inc. The community services committee will collect used eyeglasses, hearing aids, cellphones, canceled stamps, candle wax and worsted yarn. Girard Golden Eagles will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.

McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

CLASSES

Woodrow Wilson January and June classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Members of the 1946 and 1948 classes are welcome.

Woodrow Wilson Class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for lunch at Stonebridge Grille, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman.

CLUBS

Mahoning Valley Cribbage Club will meet at noon Feb. 15 at St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman. New players are welcome. For information call 330-793-6829.

Mahoning Valley Retreads will have its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Denny’s, 4927 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. All bikers are invited. Membership is open to those 40 and over who love motorcycling. Dues are $15 per person or $20 per couple and are due. Forms will be available at the meeting or call 330-717-7825.

Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The club meets the second Thursday monthly.

Youngstown Mothers of Twins Club will host its annual love auction and guest night at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Becker Family Life Center, 11 Spring St., Struthers. Hostesses are Thelma Clemente, Launa Martin and Michele Porter. The auction will be of wrapped or bagged items pertaining to Valentine’s Day. New mothers of multiples are invited. Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield. For the program members will play knit-o, which is similar to bingo. To play, take a skein of yarn for each card you wish to purchase. The yarn will be used as prizes.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of Boardman Library will meet for refreshments at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the library community room. “High Speed Rails” will be presented by Dr. Tom Marafa at 10. Hostesses are Jane Martin, Deanna Lambert and Esther Bertch. Guests and new members are welcome. The public is asked to donate books, magazines and CDs, which are collected from 10 a.m. to noon on the first and third Saturday of each month.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Junior Seton Circle’s monthly meeting at noon Thursday will be followed by a luncheon at A La Cart Catering, Canfield. Richard Scarsella will speak about the William Holmes McGuffey Eclectic Series. For information call 330-726-9909.

Mount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church.

Seton III will meet at noon Thursday at the Saxon Club, Meridian Road, for a luncheon. Speaker will be Michelle Gianetti, and this month’s theme is Heart Month/Valentines. Hostesses are Ellen Hylad and Ann Marie Morley.

St. Anthony’s Auxiliary of Struthers will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Johnny’s Restaurant, Market Street, Boardman. Telephone committee will be calling for reservations. Arlene DeChellis will outline the club calendar for 2013.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

SERVICE CLUBS

Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St., Girard.

McDonald Lions Club will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday on the second floor of the Retirement Center, 550 Ohio Ave.

SINGLES

D.A.R.E. Singles Group meets at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. Other activities scheduled are: Monday, game/cards night at 7 p.m. at Lane Family Center, Boardman; Wednesday, volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank from 5 to 7 p.m.; Thursday, speaker night at 7:30 p.m. at the church; and Feb. 15, Mardi Gras dinner dance at 7:30 p.m. at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre.

SOCIETIES

Mercer County Historical Society, 119 S. Pitt St., will present a program Tuesday on “The Iron Brigade at the Battle of Fredericksburg” by Jim Carnes. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program starts at 7. This Civil War Discussion Group is part of the society’s efforts to provide programming related to local history. The roundtable meets on the second Tuesday from September through May. Participation is open to the public and is free. For information call 724-662-3490.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Cancer Care Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at UPMC Horizon Greenville, Pa., campus.

Mercer County Breast Cancer Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Womancare Center of UPMC Horizon, 875 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, Pa.

Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, at 7 p.m. every Friday at Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland. For information call 330 856-3822.

Weight Loss Surgery Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at UPMC Horizon Greenville, Pa., campus.

Youngstown PFLAG will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave. Use the entrance to the parish house at the back of the church. Meetings are confidential and open to anyone needing support or having questions concerning GLBT issues.

VETERANS
