Man, woman indicted in Youngstown's first homicide of this year

Published: Thu, February 7, 2013 @ 4:52 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury today indicted a man and woman charged with the city’s first homicide.

The case against Larry Blue, 32, of Parmelee Avenue, and Khadijah Nicole Payden-Briggs, 19, of Maplewood Court, both charged with the shooting death of 52-year-old David Stokes of Columbiana County and the wounding of Matthew Sharp, also of Columbiana County, was directly presented to the grand jury.

Blue faces one count of aggravated murder and two counts of felonious assault. The second felonious assault charge is the result of Blue attempting to shoot a third man riding in the car with Stokes and Sharp.

Blue is in the county jail on a $1.25 million bond.

Payden-Briggs is charged with complicity to aggravated robbery. She is also in jail on a $150,000 bond.

As a previous comments came out when this first went down...

"Life is uncomplicated when you own a ranch home in the burbs, have a job and drive a new car. Race is not the problem but the forced living conditions are."

"Without jobs you will not get a better life. Government can keep you in squalor or take you out of it. Private enterprise is not interested in taking people out of the projects nor is government at this time."

So lets blame this MURDER and 2x Attempted Murder on being forced to live in the projects and no jobs.
Blue seemed to be making money selling drugs. (really think Blue is hire able? Have a feeling he wouldn't pass the easy drug test and with his mile long record seems he has no ambition to be a honest hard working man, just the easy life and prison.)
Employed a assistance in Khadijah Nicole Payden-Briggs, who is only 19 btw, 19 and helping selling drugs, that is being hire-able? Wonder if she would pass the drug test? Highly doubtful. .

So the next MURDER lets see what the excuses will be.
