‘Tuna Christmas’ at Playhouse

New Castle, Pa.

The comedy “A Tuna Christmas,” directed by Peggy Hanna, will open Friday at the Annex Theatre, New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave. A sequel to “Greater Tuna,” which was performed at the New Castle Playhouse last year, “Christmas” explores the yard-display contest in a small Texas town. Jeffrey Hall and Alan McCreary portray 24 characters in the play. The show will run for three weekends. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Buhl Park plans winter festival


The Buhl Park Winter Fest will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The event will begin with a pancake breakfast in the casino ballroom ($5 regular size, $3 small). Attractions will include ice sculpture, a chili cookoff, sled riding and a tube run, horse-drawn wagon rides, maple-tree tapping, activities for children and a snowman contest, which will be judged at 2:30 p.m. Go to
