Program to examine incredible world of snow

Published: Sun, February 3, 2013 @ 6:17 a.m.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.

Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, is having a “Crystalline Wonders” program at 2 p.m. next Sunday to discover the incredible world of snow.

The 90-minute indoor program will examine the formation and identification of snowflakes, and the impact of the beautiful crystalline formations on humans and other living things.

If it is snowing during the program, participants will step outside to catch a flake and examine it up close.

Due to basic physics and varying atmospheric conditions, scientists predict that no two snowflakes are exactly alike.

Jennings is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled.

For information, call 724-794-6011.
