Over the last week, I probably got 150 emails from the NFL just with quotes from players and coaches. With 30 minutes left before kickoff, here's three quotes I didn't get to use, but wish I had:
"Yeah, I want to make them as miserable as I was. I want them to go to college and not want to come back.”
“This is my [style]. I used to like wearing my clothes ‘Kriss Kross’ back in the day, [so] might as well throw it back on. Try it again.”
For those who either never learned about early 1990s novelty rap, or have since blocked it out, Kriss Kross had a No. 1 hit with "Jump" in 1992 and were known for wearing their clothes backward.
They also did a terrific Sprite commercial.
"Hey, yo, Kriss."
"What's up low?"
"What's that in your hand?"
"It's the S to the P-R-I-T-E can."
(If there is even one other Vindicator reader who remembers this commercial, I'll be stunned.)
“Well I have a four-month old, almost five-month old son, Jack Harbaugh, and if President Obama feels that way then there will be a little bit less competition for Jack Harbaugh when he gets old. It’s still early. Like I said, Jack is only five months old. He is a really big kid. He has an enormous head. We don’t have a 40 [yard dash time] on him yet, but his wingspan is plus one and as soon as he grows into that head he is going to be something. It’s early, but expectations are high for young Jack.”
