The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods, 7630 Southern Blvd,, a physician-owned acute-care facility, was named a 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates Inc. for the fourth consecutive year.
The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes facilities that consistently achieve the 95th percentile of performance in patient satisfaction. Fewer than 5 percent of Press Ganey clients reach this threshold and consistently maintain it for one year.
Health care education meetings
One Health Ohio is offering community meetings to educate people about the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid Expansion in Ohio at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, January through March 2014.

Trumbull Mobile Meals, 323 E. Market St., is seeking help delivering meals to people in the community who are limited in mobility, ill, frail and home-bound. The cost of SlimDown, a six-week weight management program that focuses on lifestyle changes in food, activities and behaviors, is $40 for new participants and $20 for repeat participants.
