The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter will be offering a Living with Alzheimer’s program in Canfield, which is designed to address the needs of persons in the early stages of memory loss and their care partners. Participants will be informed on what they need to know and how to plan to meet the challenges of this journey in their lives.
Living with Alzheimer’s meetings will be held once a month beginning on Jan. 13 at Canfield United Methodist Church, located at 27 S. Broad St. A total of five educational sessions will be offered on the second Monday of the month. The topics that will be presented in these sessions include understanding Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss, effective communication and telling others about the diagnosis, coping with changes and making health and legal decisions, daily coping strategies, safety issues and resources for individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.
Prior to attending Living with Alzheimer’s, all interested participants and their caregivers must be registered by contacting Carolyn Lake by email at email@example.com or calling 1-800-272-3900.
