How area FBS players fared in 2013

BIG TEN

Indiana

DL Ryan Phillis, Jr., Boardman: Started all 12 games, recording 16 tackles, including 2.5 for loss with one sack. He also broke up a pass for the Hoosiers (5-7, 3-5 Big Ten).

Iowa

RB LeShun Daniels, Fr., Warren Harding: Played in seven games, carrying 36 times for 142 yards for the Hawkeyes (8-4, 5-3).

Next: Outback Bowl vs. LSU, Jan. 1.

Michigan

RB De’Veon Smith, Fr., Howland: Played in 11 games, carrying 22 times for 110 yards for the Wolverines (7-5, 3-5).

RB Fitzgerald Toussaint, Sr., Liberty: Played in 11 games with 10 starts, carrying 183 times for 646 yards with 12 TDs. Also caught 17 passes for 203 yards and made one tackle.

Michigan State

S Kurtis Drummond, Soph., Hubbard. Started all 13 games for the Spartans (12-1, 8-0) and made 86 tackles, second-highest on the team. Also made three tackles for loss, broke up six passes, forced a fumble and made four interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Earned first team all-conference from the coaches and second team from the media.

S Jalyn Powell, Fr., Warren Harding: Redshirted.

Next: Rose Bowl vs. Stanford, Jan. 1.

Nebraska

LB Courtney Love, Fr., Mooney: Redshirted for the Cornhuskers (8-4, 5-3).

C Mark Pelini, Jr., Mooney: Played in two games, including his first two career starts against Michigan State and Penn State.

Next: Gator Bowl vs. Georgia, Jan. 1.

Northwestern

DL Tyler Scott, Sr., Howland: Started all 12 games, making 46 tackles with team-bests in tackles for loss (10) and sacks (six) for the Wildcats (5-7, 1-7). Also had two interceptions, broke up four passes, forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble and blocked a kick. Earned honorable mention all-conference honors from the coaches and second team from the media.

Ohio State

OL Corey Linsley, Sr., Boardman. Started all 13 games at center for the Buckeyes (12-1, 8-0). Earned first team All-Big Ten honors from both the conference coaches and the media.

TE J.T. Moore, Jr., Boardman: Appeared in nine games but did not record any statistics.

LS George Makridis, Sr., Warren Harding: Appeared in 11 games but did not record any statistics.

OL Billy Price, Fr., Fitch: Redshirted.

Next: Orange Bowl vs. Clemson, Jan. 3.

Wisconsin

WR Chase Hammond, Jr., Boardman: Appeared in one game for the Badgers (9-3, 6-2) but did not record any statistics. On Oct. 16, he announced on Twitter that he was giving up football after multiple ankle surgeries.

SEC

Kentucky

DB Marcus McWilson, Fr., Mooney: Appeared in eight games, making nine tackles, including two for loss. Also recovered a fumble for the Wildcats (2-10, 0-8 SEC).

ACC

Pitt

S Ray Vinopal, Jr., Mooney: Started all 12 games, making 72 tackles, including two for loss, for the Panthers (6-6, 3-5 ACC). Also had a team-best three interceptions, broke up six passes, forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble. He earned honorable mention all-conference.

Syracuse

LB Lewellyn Coker, Sr., Warren Harding: Appeared in all 12 games and made 14 tackles and forced two fumbles for the Orangemen (6-6, 4-4).

MAC

Akron

LB Jamel Turner, So., Ursuline: Appeared in nine games, made 17 tackles and recovered a fumble for the Zips (5-7, 4-4 MAC).

Ball State

LB Trent Toothman, Jr., Salem: Appeared in nine games and made 13 tackles for the Cardinals (10-2, 7-1).

Bowling Green

Andre Givens, So., Hubbard: Appared in nine games and carried 45 times for 255 yards and three TDs for the Falcons (10-3, 7-1), who defeated Northern Illinois in the MAC title game. Also caught one pass for 3 yards.

DB Cameron Truss, Sr., LaBrae: Started all 13 games and made 54 tackles with one interception. Also broke up six passes.

Buffalo

RB Devin Campbell, So., Boardman: Appeared in 11 games and carried 11 times for 21 yards with two TDs for the Bulls (8-4, 6-2). Also caught 19 passes for 200 yards, returned five punts for a 4.8 average, returned 28 kickoffs for a 23.9 average with a 96-yard TD, made four tackles and recovered a fumble.

QB Alex Zordich, Sr., Mooney: Appeared in five games, rushing 13 times for 76 yards and completing 5 of 12 passes for 66 yards.

Kent State

S Jordan Italiano, So., Canfield: Started all 12 games and made 76 tackles, including two for loss. Also broke up a pass and forced two fumbles.

QB Colin Reardon, RFr., Poland: Started 11 games, completing 186 of 317 passes for 1,957 yards, 12 TDs and nine interceptions. Also rushed 88 times for 336 yards and two TDs.

S Luke Wollet, Sr., Poland: Started all 12 games and recorded a team-best 78 tackles with two for a loss, earning third team all-conference honors. Also intercepted two passes and broke up five passes.

Miami (Ohio)

TE Connor Jones, Fr., Warren JFK: Redshirted for the RedHawks (0-12, 0-8).

TE Jimmy Rousher, RFr., Canfield: Appeared in 10 games with five starts, making 23 tackles, including 3.0 for loss with a sack. Also recovered a fumble.

Ohio

WR Brendan Cope, Fr., Howland: Appeared in one game for the Bobcats (7-5, 4-4) but did not record any statistics.

WR Landon Smith, Jr., Girard: Appeared in eight games, catching eight passes for 75 yards and a TD. Also returned five kicks for a 21.8 average.

Toledo

Jesse Curry, Fr., Ursuline: Appeared in three games and made two tackles for the Rockets (7-5, 5-3).

LB Dawalyn Harper, Jr., Ursuline: Appeared in eight games and made one tackle.

P Vince Penza, Sr., Mooney: Appeared in all 12 games, punting 44 times for a 40.8 average with 23 inside the 20. Also made one tackle.

OTHERS

Notre Dame

RB Will Mahone, Soph., Fitch: Appeared in two games but did not record any statistics for the Irish (8-4).
