POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Dec. 1

Drug abuse: Police arrested Anthony Atkinson, 33, of Cliff Drive, Salem, on a charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments, and Erica Raymond, 33, also of Cliff Drive, on a charge of wrongful entrustment.

Dec. 4

Fraudulent charges: Fraudulent charges were made on a bank card at a home in the 100 block of Laurel Hills. Full restitution was made by the bank.

Unauthorized charges: Unauthorized purchases were made on a debit card at a home in the 4000 block of Fairview Avenue. The bank made full restitution.

Drug abuse: Police arrested Kimberly Brady, 41, of North Ellsworth Road, Salem, on a charge of drug abuse of marijuana.

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested Zachary Mayo, 29, of Salt Springs Road, Warren, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

AUSTINTOWN

Dec. 2

Theft: Aluminum siding parts were stolen from a home in the 30 block of Benton Avenue.

Assault: Two females were involved in an assault in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Theft: An iPad 3 was stolen from Diamond in the Rough, 4328 New Road.

Theft: A FedEx package was taken off a front porch at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Nolan Henik, 19, of Evelyn Road, for possession of marijuana.

Criminal damaging: A driver’s window was smashed out and shattered at Cracker Barrel, 5600 Interstate Blvd.

Dec. 3

Burglary: An attempted break-in occurred at a home in the 3000 block of Ayrshire Drive.

Theft: A Ruger .22 caliber pistol and two magazines were taken from a vehicle parked in the 5000 block of Rockwell Road.

Theft: A prescription was picked up by an unauthorized female at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Identity theft: An application for a credit card was made in a victim’s name. The victim lives in a home in the 200 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Warrant: Police arrested Antoine Davis, 19, of Melrose Avenue, Boardman, on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of underage possession of alcohol.

Dec. 4

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to David Matlock, 28, of Morrison Street, Sharon, Pa., for possession of marijuana and to Shavon Johnson, 24, who also listed a Pennsylvania address, for possession of marijuana.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Rita Ave.

Theft: A catalytic converter was cut from a vehicle at Blue Ribbon Motors,4004 Mahoning Ave.

Recovered property: A DeWalt toolbox with miscellaneous tools and fittings were recovered at a home in the 1000 block of Countryside Drive.

Theft: A Coach wallet was taken from an auto parked at Deals, 6007 Mahoning Ave.

Dec. 5

Domestic violence: Police arrested Joseph O’Kernick, 52, on a charge of with domestic violence, and Ryan O’Kernick, 21, on charges of domestic violence, possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana after an arrest at 80 N. Raccoon Road, No. 90.

Theft: A female employee is suspected of taking $300 at TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: Tennis shoes were taken at a home in the 50 block of Westminster Avenue.

Theft: A credit card was missing and unauthorized charges were made to the account of the victim who lives in a home in the 4000 block of Deopham Green.

Forgery: A forgery was reported at the Associated School Employees Credit Union, 1690 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Dec. 6

Theft: A gas grill was stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Lynhaven Road.

Theft: A theft was reported at Handyman Hardware, 4351 Kirk Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Robert Moore, 18, of Wickliffe Circle, for possession of hashish and marijuana, and to Nolan Henrik, 19, of Evelyn Drive, for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug offense: Police arrested Jacob Sprankle, 36, of state Route 7, Hubbard, on charges of illegal processing of a drug document, forgery, receiving stolen property and possession of Oxycodone at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave. He had a blank prescription pad with a physician’s name on the scripts.

Dec. 7

Theft: A lost or stolen wallet was reported at Rulli Bros., 4331 Kirk Road.

Menacing by stalking: A victim reported being stalked at a home 1000 block of Laurie Drive.

Dec. 8

Assault: Police arrested William Frederick, 45, of Tulane Avenue, on a charge of assault on a police officer.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to Kaci O’Neil, 29, of Sprucevale Road, East Liverpool, for disorderly conduct at O’Donold’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Disturbance: Neighbors were involved in a disturbance at a home in the 2000 block of Redgate Lane.

Theft: A woman reported 30 to 40 prescription pills taken from a home in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.
