Austintown man faces charge of assault on police officer

AUSTINTOWN — Police arrested a township man on charges of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest in the early morning hours Monday.

William Frederick, 45, of Tulane Avenue, entered no plea on the charge of assaulting a police officer and a not guilty plea to the resisting arrest charge later Monday in Mahoning County Area Court here. He has a pretrial at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6 on both charges before Judge David D’Apolito.
