Police arrest 3 and seize drugs, guns and cash in drug busts

YOUNGSTOWN — Police seized two guns, cash and drugs Wednesday while serving two search warrants during a drug activity investigation.

At 618 W. Heights Ave. at about 5 p.m., police found a .22-caliber rifle and a crack pipe. Keenan Colvin, 20, of Youngstown, was cited for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 513 E. Florida Ave. at about 6:30 p.m., police found a scale, two bags of marijuana, a crack pipe, cash and a .38-caliber revolver. Arrested on drug charges there was 20-year-old Zachary Markovich of Poland and Levert F. Dent, 25, of Youngstown.

They were both taken to the Mahoning County jail and are expected to be arraigned in Municipal Court Friday.

It looks like someone is doing a good job. The murder rate is down and there have been lots of high profile arrests this year. YPD might just be going down the right path.
