Local Christian theater troupe, No Plan B, will perform at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel NW.

The play, “All That Matters,” was co-written by Melanie Montoya, a member of the congregation. It is a story of a family camping trip arranged by four daughters in an attempt to help their father “get to heaven.”

An offering will be taken to benefit the Bella Women’s Center, a mission supported by Grace UMC.

Refreshments will be served after the performance.

The church has a handicapped-accessible entrance.

Sign-language Mass

Richard Koker will offer sign-language interpretation for a Mass at 8 a.m. Sunday on the concourse at the Canfield Fair. The Rev. Ed Noga, pastor of St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, will be the celebrant.

Education workshop

Greater Friendship Baptist, 646 Lakewood Ave., will conduct its annual Christian education workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 on the theme commitment.

Facilitators will be Pastor Raymond Mason of Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church, Pastor Larry McCollough of World Fellowship Church and evangelist Sherri Dawson.

Special presentations will be by Family Christian Book Store.

For the teaching staff of Greater Friendship Baptist, the event is free and members pay $10. For others, $15. Contact Anne Rutland or Pecola Hunter at the church, 330-743-5084, for registration.

A light breakfast and lunch will be served.

Elder Rosetta Carter is director and Bette Patterson, co-director. The Rev. James C. Bowie is pastor.

Outdoor celebration

Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., will host an outside gathering from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 to celebrate “God’s Great Movement” and to “increase the peace.”

There will be free food, live music and activities for children.

Prayer team

The Youngstown City and Regional Prayer Team will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 7 at Fifth Avenue Community Church, 1361 Fifth Ave. Prayer leaders are Larry and Betty Stephens.

Praise service

southington

Southington United Methodist Church, state Route 305, in the town center, will have a praise and worship service at 7 p.m. today.

Casual dress is permitted and refreshments will follow.

Men’s weekend

Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., will host a men’s day weekend Friday through Sept. 8.

Events will be a fish fry from noon to 5 p.m. Friday for $8, a male chorus concert at 4 p.m. Sept. 7 and worship service at 11 a.m. Sept. 8 with speaker Elder Patrick Lyons of St. John Baptist Church in Erie, Pa.

Women’s conference

Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church, 1812 Oak Hill Ave., will sponsor a women’s conference Sept. 13-15 with speakers Dr. Elaine Shouse Waller, Dr. Sheila Austin, evangelist Sandra Riley and Krista Tyson.
