Mahoning County would replace boilers in courthouse

Staff report

Mahoning County commissioners Thursday approved advertising for bids for new boilers in the courthouse and the juvenile justice center.

Fourteen boilers in the courthouse will be replaced with four new boilers, and one boiler will be replaced in JJC. Replacing the old boilers with energy-efficent boilers will help to reduce cost, officials said.

“This was needed,” said Carol Rimedio-Righetti, county commissioner. “So, hopefully we can save a lot of money.”

Also at the meetingat the Ohio State University Extension Office in Canfield, commissioners approved a resolution for a sewer improvement project in Jackson Township at a cost of $315,150.

County commissioners also thanked all of the volunteers at the OSU Extension Office and elsewhere for their help in educating the community, before they headed to the fairgrounds for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the 167th Canfield Fair.
