“The Frog Prince” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,SDRq directed by Brendan Byers, Easy Street Productions, 865 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, auditions for the 2013-14 touring company of the Pied Piper Theatre at 11 a.m. Saturday. The plays will be performed from early October through early May in schools throughout Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. The Pied Piper is a new professional theatre based in Youngstown whose mission is provide quality productions of classic and contemporary children’s literature with a twist. The company is looking for male and female actors 18 and older who are available for daytime performances during the week. “A Christmas Carol: The Musical,SDRq directed by Lester Malizia, New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave., New Castle, auditions from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. A Broadway version by composer Alan Menken will give new life to the familiar Christmas tale of Ebenezer Scrooge. Actors auditioning are asked to prepare a vocal selection; guests may provide sheet music for an accompanist to play, use an accompaniment CD, or sing a capella.
