Missionary to Brazil
Austin Wagley, a 2013 graduate of Canfield High School, will be a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Porto Alegre South, Brazil.
Last week, he reported to the Missionary Training Center in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
He is a member of the Alliance Ward.
The son of Craig and Pam Wagley of Canfield will follow in the footsteps of his father, his maternal and his paternal grandparents and two older brothers who all served full-time missions for the LDS Church.
Wagley will learn Portuguese, the main language in Brazil, at the Missionary Training Center.
Wagley is a graduate of the church seminary program for high school students. During the school year, he attended the Youngstown seminary.
At 18, Wagley is the youngest member of the Youngstown Stake (region) of the church to serve a full- time mission of two years.
“Help and Healing on the Spiritual Path Through the Teachings of Bruno Groening” will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 S. Broad St.
The session is taking place at, but is not affiliated with, the church.
The 90-minute lecture is sponsored by the Circle for Spiritual Aid to Life, based on the teachings of Groening, a German healer and teacher.
The free information lecture is about 90 minutes.

Southington United Methodist Church, state Route 305, in the town center, will have a praise and worship service at 7 p.m. today.
Casual dress is permitted and refreshments will follow.
The Ursuline Center will host a guided labyrinth walk at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 4280 Shields Road.
Walks last approximately a half hour.

The labyrinth is a ministry of the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown and open year-round from dawn to dusk to all people of faith.
There is no cost to use the labyrinth, which is handicapped-accessible. Guides are located at its entrance.
Concert at church
Sons of Liberty of Stanton, Ky., Gospel recording artists, will sing at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Rogers Assembly of God, 8251 Sprucevale Road. A nursery will be available.
Agape Assembly, 426 Nevada Ave. SW. is collecting school supplies to be distributed at its citywide “Back to School Sunday” service Aug. 25.
The service will feature messages and prayers from teachers, students and parents.
School supplies may be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays or by appointment.
